Good evening book readers.
I hope you all had an amazing and relaxing weekend.
Mine consisted of being my first bouquet of tulips for in my new home and make it more springy.
We continue the series with another upcoming author Amelie Rhys and her novel Alive At Night (which I do like to cover, it's so beautiful).

Former childhood enemies Julian and Juniper are forced to work together, but a simple exchange could change everything—he needs help with his case and she needs a fake boyfriend.
**
JULIAN BRIGGS has just landed his first job as an associate attorney. Everything feels perfect, until he learns he’s sharing his office with the last person he wants to see from nine-to-five every day: Juniper, his sister’s best friend and the one woman who knows how to drive him up a wall.
Working with Juniper in the confines of their tiny office is a nightmare. She’s stubborn, challenges everything he says, and is way too good at her job. In fact, she’s so good that Julian is forced to ask her for help on a tough case. And while Juniper agrees, there’s one catch.
JUNIPER ST. JAMES has never met her half-sister before, yet she finds herself with an invitation to her lavish New York wedding. With only a handful of stressful weeks to go until the big event, Juniper wants a fake boyfriend, and she wants Julian’s help getting his college roommate and hot NFL star, Noah, to play the role.
Julian reluctantly goes along with the trade, but spending long, late nights working on his case with Juniper makes him realize how surprisingly well he can tolerate her company. Or more than tolerate. And when Noah bails on being Juniper’s fake wedding date, Julian is ready to step in. But he promises himself he’ll never let her know how happy he is to stand by her side—even if just for one night.
Truth to be honest, this was again a 3 star read.
Just let me rant out about the fact that over 300 pages for a romance book should not be allowed. That you tell me a fantasy book needs over 300 pages, yes I do agree because fantasy is so much more. But a romance, nah.
First of all the tropes, as I explained in last weeks blogpost, or podcast I am a bit tired of the brother's best friend or the enemies to lovers, or force proximity. Yes, this book was kind of different due to the fact that they are working in a law firm and I can related to the female character myself, but the rest is just a deja vue.
So sad though, cuz I am really interested in Noah's storyline. Hence I'll be checking out the sequel but for the rest it was a nice book without much else.
At some point, I really felt like there was not a lot happening until the Grayson case that Juniper won.
The writing was fine, and really smooth. I did manage to read 300 pages in the 3 hours. And for those of you who like spice, then there is enough spice. But honestly, it wasn't my favourite book.
I do want to congratulate the author for putting the efforts into her book and keep going with the sequel. It must not be easy being a new author in the world dominated by Ana Huang, Elsie Silver, Penelope Douglas, Elle Kennedy, Lauren Asher etc..
I hope to see you guys on Thursday for a new blogpost.
Love, Manon
