Hellow dear audience,
Are you ready for another book review?

Review:
After finishing "War from Laura Thalassa," I moved on to "The Cursed Crown" by Catherine Doyle and Catherine Weber, the second novel in the "Twin Crowns" series. If you haven’t read the series yet, I advise against reading this review due to major spoilers. However, if you've read the first book or are about to start the second and want to know if it’s worth your time, please continue.
The second book centers on Rose and Wren, who both become queens of Eanna after the events of the first book. Their grandmother, Banba, is still held captive by Alarik in Gevra, while Rose and Wren face their own challenges in Eanna. The story begins well, but it’s my least favorite of the series, having already read the third book. One of the sisters abandons her responsibilities to rescue their grandmother, which leads to more trouble, including a curse being unleashed.
Despite this, I enjoyed the authors' writing style. The book is fast-paced and easy to read, with larger text making the 500 pages feel more like 300 to 400 in a standard format. The dual points of view from both sisters are a great touch, allowing readers to see both sides of the story, especially when they are separated.
While I appreciated some character developments, there were changes in two characters that I didn't care for. One change was particularly disappointing, and I didn’t see the need to continue with that character. Overall, the book ends on a cliffhanger, typical for a second installment, with a significant event that sets up the next book. For those intrigued, reading it will reveal what I mean.
Plot:
"The Cursed Crown" by Catherine Doyle and Catherine Webber continues the story of twin sisters Rose and Wren, who have recently become the joint queens of Eana. After the tumultuous events of the first book, "Twin Crowns," the sisters face new challenges in their reign. Their grandmother, Banba, is held captive by the usurper Alarik in Jevra, creating a persistent threat.
Rose and Wren are dealing with their own set of problems in Eana. Despite their joint rule, tensions arise when one sister leaves to rescue Banba, leaving the other to handle the kingdom's troubles alone. This decision leads to significant complications, as the rescue mission results in dabbling with forbidden magic, ultimately releasing a dangerous curse.
The narrative is fast-paced and unfolds through the dual perspectives of Rose and Wren, providing insights into their separate journeys and struggles. The book's action and conflicts escalate, leading to a cliffhanger ending that sets the stage for the next installment in the series.
